(Sept. 22, 2022) The Artists Association of Nantucket will host its 2022 Wet Paint Weekend Friday through Sunday, Oct. 7-9.

Wet Paint Weekend offers many opportunities to meet AAN artists, see them at their easels and participate in an auction of their works.

Wet Paint Weekend will kick off with the Wet Paint Welcome Party Friday, Oct. 7 from 5-7 p.m. at the AAN’s Big Gallery, 12 Straight  Wharf. Bidding will begin that evening and continue through the end of the auction on Sunday.

On Saturday, Oct. 8, the Wet Paint Art Hop will have maps detailing where artist members will be painting en plein air downtown.

“Curious bystanders are invited to peer over the artists’ shoulders to see the view turn into a painted canvas,” AAN artistic director Robert  Frazier said. Maps to find painting locations will be available with coffee and doughnuts in the Big Gallery from 9-11 a.m.

Wet Paint Weekend culminates Sunday, Oct. 9 with a live auction, featuring the fresh new works, followed by a dinner. There will also be a silent auction to view and bid.

This year’s auction has been moved back to the Nantucket Yacht Club, 1 South Beach St.
